You will be able to experience view of snow-capped Himalayas over 8,000m and hilly landscape on our flight. Once we arrive at Lukla airport, we will have breakfast and small meetings with our team for our upcoming days plans and safety procedure and intro with our porters.
We start our first day trek to Everest base camp from Lukla. Today we will trek to Phakding (2,610m), our first stop for the day. The trail goes through pine and cedar wood forest along the Dudh Kosi river. We will follow the marked trek trail until we arrive at the first village of the trek, Chaurikharka. We will walk through the suspension bridge at the area and continue along to the banks of Dudh Kosi River until we arrive at Phakding ( 2,610m).
“A good rule of thumb on the trek is – early to bed and early to rise. We have our dinner around 6-7pm and go to bed by 8-9pm. We prefer you to eat a veg meal during the trekking period.”
After breakfast, our trek continues along the bank of Dudh Kosi River towards Namche. The first village we reach for the day is Tok Tok (2,760m) from where you can have excellent views of Thamserku Peak (6,608m). We will stop for tea break and continue our trek towards MONJO (2,835m) which is also the starting point of Sagarmatha National Park. Sagarmatha National Park was established in 1976 and it spans approximately 1,148 sq km of area. We have short break for arranging permit and signing in. After check point, we will resume our trekking towards Jorsale (2,740m) and then to Larja Dobhan (2,830m) crossing some highest hanging bridge en-route. In this part of trek, we can have our first glimpe of Mt Everest depending on weather along with Mt Nuptse (7,879m). After a couple more hours of trekking, we will reach the streets of Namche Bazaar, the biggest Sherpa village on the trek route. Namche is a beautiful village surrounded by snow-capped mountains and last market in the area. There are plenty of stores for trekking gears, bars, cafes and ATMs.
( Note: Continue to monitor your health at this point. Namche Bazzar is at the altitude of 3,440m. Any symptoms showed up, Consult with your trek guide straight away)
Today is our Acclimatization Day. Get yourself familiar with weather and altitude. So day we will trek around surroundings of Namche bazar.
After breakfast, we will hike to the Hillary Memorial viewpoint to see the statue of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and the spectacular panoramic view of snowcapped mountains. From here, you can see the mountains such as Nuptse (7,861m), Mt. Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,414m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Thamserku (6,608m), Kusum Khangkaru (6,367m) and Kangtega (6,685m). We will continue to ascend towards Everest Hotel where we will be able to see Mt Everest depending on Weather. We then continue our trek towards Khumjung village (3,780m). We will make stop for lunch for few hours. We will slowly descend back to Namche after lunch.
(Note: Namche is last market in the region. Re-check your baggage and you can buy it here if anything is needed)
Enjoy your breakfast in the Himalayas before we start the trek to Tengboche another magnificent village of this region. The trek starts with short climbing before we reach the army camp. Then the trek is flat until we reach Khyangjuma. You can rest you legs with a view of huge Mt. Amadablam mountain for a little while. The trail to Gokyo Lake and the trail to Everest Base Camp separates from this area onwards. We follow the trail on the right, which will take us to the Everest Base Camp. From here the trail steep down until we reach Phunki Tenga(3250m) for our lunch. Once we finish our lunch we can cross Dudhkoshi River before ascending to Tengboche (3860m). The trail again goes steep up through beautiful forests with numerous views of villages in the horizon. As the trail ascends we will also reach Tengboche in about an hour where we will stop for the night. Tengboche offers close view of Mt. Amadablam which is considered as one of the most beautiful peaks in the world. This is a good stop over to take some beautiful pictures. You can also visit the Tengboche monastery, which is one of the biggest Buddhist monasteries in this region.
After breakfast, we will descend to Debuche(3820m) and then walk uphill until we cross Imja Khola. From here the climbing becomes steeper until we reach another village called Pangboche(3930m). Pangboche is home to many Nepalese Everest climbers. You will have an immense view of Amadablam mountain and also some other summits from this area where the best thing to do is to experience some hot tea in front of those magnificent peaks. Then we continue to our lunch spot called Somare(4010m). After Somare the trail is easy and mostly gentle uphill. After walking for a bit, we will reach Orsho(4190m) and from here the trail to Pheriche and Dingboche will separate. Continuing further for less than an hour we will reach the Dingboche valley. It is a gorgeous valley surrounded by majestic peaks. Dingboche is also the gateway for an Island Peak Climbing which is one of the most popular trekking peaks of Nepal.
Today is our Acclimatization Day. We will be going on trek around flag pole (5,100m) on the peak to have spectacular views of Island Peak (6,189m), Ama Dablam (6,856m),Taboche (6,367m), Cholatse (6,335m) and Loboche (6,119m). We will continue more hike around, spend some time on height and will return back to hotel and spend rest of day.
It is a pleasant walk from Dingboche to Chhukung(4730m). The trail will take us through high alpine terrains along the stone walled fields. The trail follows near the Imja Khola which comes all the way from the glacier of Island Peak and other peaks nearby. We stop at Chhukung, several snow covered Himalayan peaks like Lhotse, Amadablam and Island Peak will be following us all the way. These peaks will be close enough to make you believe they are with in a reach of extend of your hand.
This is our first big challenging toughest trek days. We will be carrying required amount of water and some packed meals as there are no lodges/ teahouses along the route. Only once we climb 4 to 5 hours of the route, we will reach to the top of Kongma La Pass(5535m); a small area covered with Buddhist praying flags. The descending from the top is quite tough even it' s descending. Moreover, if the trail is covered with ice or snow then it will make the journey more exhausting. Finally, we will reach Lobuche(4910m) and be able to have a magnificent views of Pumori and Nuptse from this village. It will takes us approx. 9 hours to reach Lobuche.
We will enjoy a hot breakfast in Lobuche before we start hiking to Gorakshep; one of the major location during our adventurous journey. Our loyal majestic mountains will follow us all the way until we reach our destination. The trek does not have any steep climbing, though it will be difficult and tiring due to high elevation. We will be walking in between 4,900 meters to 5,300 meters on this day. The trail is quite wide and easy to walk and is a short hike to reach Gorakshep. Once we reach Gorakshep we will keep our belongings in the lodge before we have our lunch. After the refreshments, we will start hiking to Everest Base Camp. The route from Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp includes numerous short ups and downs. The trail condition is not satisfactory everywhere and includes many small rocks along the route. You need to be careful of the slippery rocks. Don' t forgets to enjoy the breathtaking views of Everest, Pumori, Nuptse, Lhotse along with several other peaks. On a lucky day you will also be able to enjoy some of the avalanches on another side of Khumbu glacier; one of the biggest glaciers in the world. Once we reach Everest Base Camp we can take some pictures. We will give you some time to enjoy this moment of reaching the base camp of the tallest mountain on Earth. After finishing our activities around the base camp, we will return back to Gorakshep through same trail and prepare for another day.
(Note: Today we will have early dinner, and get to bed early as the very next day, we will start trek early morning to view sunrise and Mt Everest from Kalapathar)
Trekking to Kalapatthar is not easy especially because of the altitude. It is an early morning cold walk in the dark, but it' s enjoyable and it will be one of the memorable time of your life. Depending on the timing of sunrise, your guide will provide you the kick off the hiking time. The hike from Gorakshep to Kalapatthar is about an hour steep climbing. Depending on your walking speed it may take a little more or less. Kalapatthar gives authentic and magnificent views of Himalayas just in front of you. It' s a wonderful view point that only few people have seen. Take some shots of you and peaks, enjoy your photography in this place before we again return back to our lodge, and then to Dzongla.
The trek starts with a short gentle walk downhill but once we reach the base of the pass we will have to start climbing. We will have to start early in the morning to avoid strong wind hitting us on the top of the pass. The views are excellent here, we will be surrounded by several high Himalayan snowy peaks including Thamserku, Kangteng, Amadablam, Cholatse, Tabuche and Cho Oyu. We need to exercise careful and vigilant while walking in the area as rocks may fall from the cliff as the ice starts to melt. The final climbing to Chola can be a little tricky as it curves at the end. Going down from Chola is difficult, slippery and often dangerous once sun starts to appear and the temperature rises. Once we finish descending we will reach small place called Dragnag. We stay here overnight.
The trail after Thaknak is mostly over glaciers. Blue ice can be spotted along the route. Finally, we will reach Gokyo valley on the side of blue glacial lakes and majestic peaks in the front. Gokyo Lakes are known for several fabulous high-altitude lakes in the region. These lakes are also the origin of Dudh Koshi river. Here, we will be surrounded by 360-degree Himalayan panoramic view. It' s an excellent place to spend the night.
Today is one of the hardest day of our adventure. Crossing Renjo La is quite hard because of small rocks along the route. The trail from Gokyo starts with gentle climbing leading towards the steeper challenges before reaching to the top of Renjo La. Renjo La pass offers some excellent views of Gokyo valley and uncountable number of close Himalayan peaks. The trail from Renjo La pass descends to Lungden. Lungden is the only village that we will meet after Gokyo and Renjo La pass. This is a small village with very few basic lodges to facilitate trekkers requirements.
The trail from Lungden to Namche is mostly downhill. We will walk via Marulung village [4,210M/ 13,812FT] before reaching Thame [3,820M / 12,532FT]. Thame is a popular villages of this region which has hundreds of years old monastery. This is a beautiful Sherpa village hosting world famous mountaineers situated on the west of Khumbu region. Continuing our trek further, we will reach Namche Bazaar.
Most of the walk today will be on the trail going steep downhill. You will cross the suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags above the gushing Dudh Kosi river. The views of open plains, pine and rhododendron forests as well as snow covered peaks will enchant you once again. Overnight in phakding.
Enjoy the leisurely walk on the last day of the trek to the fullest, we Slowly ascend for a bit to arrive at Lukla (2,840m). Celebrate the victory of accomplishing the trek with a beer or two. Overnight in Lukla.

The hub of the teahouse is the dining room; usually decorated with colourful traditional rugs sometimes with a fire pit or heater (some lodges may charge a fee to put the heater on). Most teahouses sell snacks and other essentials such as tissues, soap and toilet papers. Almost all lodges have electricity, but it is not wholly reliable, and lighting may not be bright enough to read, carrying a torch is essential. Electrical charging facilities are generally available only in the dining room (charged at approx. Rs 150-350 per hour per device). Many of the lodges use solar generated power system so sometimes there may not be enough electricity for produced for all of your devices. Many lodges have Wi-Fi installed these days, but the internet speed may vary with some areas working very well but in other parts slow and temperamental.
The Accommodation facility is arranged on a Twin Sharing Basis. If you are travelling on your Own you will be paired up with someone of the Same Sex. In some of the Lodges in Higher Altitude, the Occupancy may have to maximize to utilize the Space by Providing Multi-Bedded Rooms.

Toilet Papers are not provided so you should bring your own.(Please dispose the Wastage in the bin provided – do not put it in the bowl). If there is not a flush handle available, there will be a container of water to pour down. Hot shower facilities are available in some teahouses for a price and in most of the places; a hot shower means to supply a bucket of hot water, enough to wash your body.
Standards of Cleanliness are very basic in Higher Altitude lodges. During the Peak Trekking Season and winter, the Conditions may get out of Control. FOODS IN NEPAL
In Major Cities of Nepal like- Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan there’s a variety of Choice of all tastes and Budget whereas the menus in the tea houses are Traditional Dhal Bhat and European Cousins. Vegetarians do not need to worry as they are well catered in Nepal. We reckon our Trekkers to put extra care around while choosing the meals around the Trek House. Dhal Bhat is the staple diet in Nepal and comes in many different forms but generally comprises some curried lentil dhal and meat or vegetables, some rice, and a pickle/chutney. Another popular snack is momos; a type of Nepalese dumpling, fried or steamed, filled with meat or vegetables.Although meat is available in the teahouses, we advise against eating it on trek. The meat has often been carried in the heat from lower altitudes for several days before reaching the lodges and can cause stomach upsets or illness. Germs can also be spread by handling dirty money - we recommend using hand sanitiser.
Meals on Trek: Allow approximately US$30-US$40 per day for meals, snacks and drinks in the lodges.
There are many fine restaurants in Kathmandu and you should allow approx. US$15 for lunch and US$20 for dinner. Drinks extra. Nepal caters very well towards vegetarians and vegans with almost all restaurants having a veg section of the menu. If in doubt, please check with your tour leader.
Your tour leader will be able to direct you towards restaurants that are known to have better hygiene, especially in tourist areas where they are travelling with our groups regularly
SOME TIPS THAT WILL HELP YOU STAY WELL WHEN EATING IN NEPAL INCLUDES:
- Stick to Restaurants and street stalls busy with locals - local families eating there are a good bet.
- Wash your hands before eating (most restaurants will have a hand basin or bathroom) or use a Sanitising hand gel
- Give yourself a few days to get used to local food, especially spicy food.
- If in Doubt, Stick to the Veg Meal
- Avoid salads and peel fruit to Avoid eating skin that may be Washed in Local Water
- Steer Clear of ice unless in Higher end Restaurants
- Drink more Chai, Eat More mo-mo's
DRINKING WATER
Staying hydrated is important when undertaking any physical activity but particularly so at altitude where it is generally recommended to drink at least 3-4 litres per person per day. We strongly encourage you not to buy bottled water on trek as this contributes to the growing problem of plastic pollution in Nepal’s trekking areas.
All teahouses will provide cold water free of charge, if requested. Although this should not be drunk untreated, we recommend that you bring a reusable bottle with a wide opening (Nalgene or similar) with you and use a SteriPEN to treat it with. A SteriPEN is a handheld UV water purifier – small, lightweight and battery powered so easy to pack for a trek. In Nepal’s trekking regions most of the bottled water isn’t strictly ‘mineral water’ anyway but is UV treated, so it’s exactly the same technology. It’s quick to use, far more effective than purification tablets, and the water is ready immediately. It’s fine to use a SteriPEN on non-boiled water so long as it isn’t cloudy or full of sediment (which is uncommon in these regions). SteriPENs are widely stocked on Ebay, Amazon, outdoor shops and other online retailers; look for the latest models but avoid USB charging ones. Better still, a SteriPEN will pay for itself over the course of the trek and you won’t leave behind a single plastic bottle – you will end up spending the same or even less than you would on bottled water, plus you can keep it for future trips.
If you prefer not to invest in a SteriPEN, the teahouses also sell boiled water for approx. Rs150-350 per litre (the price increases the higher you trek) which should not require treating. This is also perfect for a bedtime refill as it can double up as a Hot Water Bottle.
