Every single step you take through the trekking will lead to unlock the mystery of Himalayas.
Trek to Everest is once in a lifetime moment. Though Covid has impacted most in Nepal's tourism, the magnificent himalayas are still calling to explore them. Being the one of the famous trek route in world, it all started with the daring expedition completed by legendary sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. Since then, Everest Base Camp trek has been one of the must do activities to every wanderlust.
The Travel Adventure Nepal representative welcome guest at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu with the company logo displayed on the handheld signage board outside the airport terminal. Airport transfer is complementary that has to be pre-arranged during your trip booking process with your flight details. You will then be transferred to your respective hotel on our private vehicle.
Note: Pre-trip meeting will be held at our office or at your hotel on the same day. In this meeting, you are requested to bring your passport, 3 passport-sized photographs and a readable copy of your travel insurance, transcript in English language. Also, most importantly, you must sign a legally binding trip form, and a non–liability disclaimer. In this meeting, you are also requested to ask any questions regarding your trip and other informations that are in doubts. Also, in this meeting, we discuss about different aspect of trips, information about country, culture norms and values, money matter, eating and dining.

Kathmandu to Lukla flight will depart at early morning in small 15- 18-seater aircraft. It is a short 30- 40-minute scenic flight from Kathmandu. You will be able to experience view of snow-capped Himalayas over 8,000m and hilly landscape on our flight. Once we arrive at Lukla airport, we will have breakfast and small meetings with our team for our upcoming days plans and safety procedure and intro with our porters.
We start our first day trek to Everest base camp from Lukla. Today we will trek to Phakding (2,610m), our first stop for the day. The trail goes through pine and cedar wood forest along the Dudh Kosi river. We will follow the marked trek trail until we arrive at the first village of the trek, Chaurikharka. We will walk through the suspension bridge at the area and continue along to the banks of Dudh Kosi River until we arrive at Phakding ( 2,610m).
“A good rule of thumb on the trek is – early to bed and early to rise. We have our dinner around 6-7pm and go to bed by 8-9pm. We prefer you to eat a veg meal during the trekking period.”
After breakfast, our trek continues along the bank of Dudh Kosi River towards Namche. The first village we reach for the day is Tok Tok (2,760m) from where you can have excellent views of Thamserku Peak (6,608m). We will stop for tea break and continue our trek towards MONJO (2,835m) which is also the starting point of Sagarmatha National Park. Sagarmatha National Park was established in 1976 and it spans approximately 1,148 sq km of area. We have short break for arranging permit and signing in. After check point, we will resume our trekking towards Jorsale (2,740m) and then to Larja Dobhan (2,830m) crossing some highest hanging bridge en-route. In this part of trek, we can have our first glimpe of Mt Everest depending on weather along with Mt Nuptse (7,879m). After a couple more hours of trekking, we will reach the streets of Namche Bazaar, the biggest Sherpa village on the trek route. Namche is a beautiful village surrounded by snow-capped mountains and last market in the area. There are plenty of stores for trekking gears, bars, cafes and ATMs.
( Note: Continue to monitor your health at this point. Namche Bazzar is at the altitude of 3,440m. Any symptoms showed up, Consult with your trek guide straight away)
Today is our Acclimatization Day. Get yourself familiar with weather and altitude. So day we will trek around surroundings of Namche bazar.
After breakfast, we will hike to the Hillary Memorial viewpoint to see the statue of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and the spectacular panoramic view of snowcapped mountains. From here, you can see the mountains such as Nuptse (7,861m), Mt. Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,414m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Thamserku (6,608m), Kusum Khangkaru (6,367m) and Kangtega (6,685m). We will continue to ascend towards Everest Hotel where we will be able to see Mt Everest depending on Weather. We then continue our trek towards Khumjung village (3,780m). We will make stop for lunch for few hours. We will slowly descend back to Namche after lunch.

Today our trek starts towards Sanasa with series of ascents and descents during the trail with stunning views of Everest, Nuptse and Lhotse. We will be crossing some rivers, rhododendron forest ( National flower of Nepal) and some forest ascending towards Phortse Village. This trekking route will reflects some of the rich culture of Sherpa peoples. Phortse village is home for some of the great sherpas who climbed Mt Everest for number of times. Phortse is one of the small villages framing the stunning Khumbu Valley. From here we get our first view of Cho Oyu, one of the great eight-thousands Himalaya, whilst behind the village the peaks of Taboche (6,367m) and Cholatse (6,335m) are present. The village itself is watched over by the magnificent Ama Dablam.
The day commences with a steep descent through meadows and a pine forest towards a small bridge over the Imja Khola (river), and then a steady climb to Dingboche with spectacular views of Ama Dablam. En route we pass through Pangboche the home of the most ancient monastery in the region and the Gompa which houses the famous Yeti scalp. Dingboche will be our second Acclimatization stop in our Everest trekking route.
( Note: Be more vigilant on your health as now the altitude is over 4000m. Drink more fluid, be close with your group and regular check your oxygen level)
Today is our Acclimatization Day. We will be going on trek around flag pole (5,100m) on the peak to have spectacular views of Island Peak (6,189m), Ama Dablam (6,856m),Taboche (6,367m), Cholatse (6,335m) and Loboche (6,119m). We will continue more hike around, spend some time on height and will return back to hotel and spend rest of day.
Today’s destination will be Lobuche at 4,910m. Enjoy the spectacular views of Taboche (6,367m) and Cholatse (6,335m) throughout the trek. Locals say that this trail is the habitat of snow leopards and the renowned Yeti. The trekking route is mostly flat till the first village of the trek, Dughla/Thukla (4,620m) where we will take a break and have some tea or early lunch. After Dughla/Thukla, the trail climbs up the rough terminal moraine of Khumbu Glacier. This area has rows of stone monuments built in memory of Sherpas who died in an avalanche during the 1970 Japanese expedition on Mt. Everest including Babu Chiri Sherpa, a 10-time Everest submitter and Scott Fischer who died in 1996 Everest disaster. While crossing the ridge from here, you will have great views of Mt. Pumori (7,165m). Continue to climb up to the north over rough moraine to arrive at Lobuche (4,910m), a summer village with several hotels.
Day end here in lobuche, we are almost there to Everest Base Camp.
9th Day in Everest region, and today is the big one. Our trek will head towards Gorakshep via Everest Base Camp. Trek along with Khumbu glacier, this place is whole other world. The majestic mountains will be following us all the way till we reach the destination. We will be walking in between 4,900 meters to 5,300 meters on this day. It is a short hike to reach Gorakshep. Once we reach Gorakshep we will keep our belongings in the lodge. After the lunch we will start trek towards Everest Base Camp (5364m). The route from Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp includes numerous short ups and downs. On a lucky day you will also be able to enjoy some of the avalanches on another side of Khumbu glacier; one of the biggest glaciers in the world. Once we reach Everest Base Camp, we take some pictures. We will give you some time to enjoy this moment of reaching the base camp of the tallest mountain on Earth. After finishing our activities around the base camp, we will return to Gorakshep through same trekking route and prepare for another day.
(Note: Today we will have early dinner, and get to bed early as the very next day, we will start trek early morning to view sunrise and Mt Everest from Kalapathar)
The interesting fact of Everest Base Camp Trekking- “Kalapatthar” is only the place where you can have best views of Everest among all other views. Today we will start our trek journey early morning, so we won’t get disturbed by naughty weather. Grab your camera, layer yourself well, carry a head lamp and be ready for the most majestic moment of life.
Kala Patthar is a small peak at an altitude of 5,545m. Most trekkers climb up Kala Patthar to catch the sunrise and the best views of Mt. Everest. The ascent up the peak is demanding especially as it can be very cold (-20c or lower), windy and sometimes snowy. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with the magnificent views of Mt. Everest (8,848m). Himalayan giants such as Nuptse (7,861m), Pumori (7,165m), Chagatse, Lhotse (8,414m) and countless others loom all around you. The soul of wanderlust will get emotions reaching upon here. After few moments in Kalapathhar we will descend to Gorakshep (5,140m) and have a good breakfast. Check out the lodge. Follow the trail and descent gently to Lobuche (4,910m) and slowly go up towards Pheriche.
Today we will be trekking back to Namche. Our journey will continue along the imja River towards Tengboche village (3,860m). We will stop at tengboche to visit the biggest monastery of Khumbu region. We will meet some monks around there. Then slowly descend for about 2 hours towards Phunke Tenga. Climb up ascending slowly to arrive at Khyangjuma (3,550m). We will stop at Khyangjuma for lunch and will trek uphill for 2 more hours to arrive at Namche (3,440m).
Most of our trekking route today will be steep downwards as we will be loosing altitude from this point. But remember, in mountains walking downwards is much risking than climbing up. So watch your steps. We will cross the suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags above the gushing Dudh Kosi river. The views of open plains, pine and rhododendron forests as well as snow covered peaks will enchant you once again. Our Over night stay will be at Phakding.
The last day in Everest Region. The mountains behind us will be waiving us the final goodbye. Early morning we will hike towards Lukla. Some uphills routes along side the majestic view of Kusum Kangaru will make the route even more beautiful. Reaching upon hotel in Lukla, we will gather together one last time with Sherpa crew for dinner and share the story. Have some drink, dancing and one last meal in Everest we will end our Everest trek here in Lukla
Our best preference for the flight back to Kathmandu will be the early morning. But weather in Lukla is unpredictable. So we might get some delays. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to hotel. Today you will be free day in Kathmandu. You can do some shopping around or sightseeing if you want to. Our guide will help you out if you need any assistance.
We will have final dinner in Nepal as a farewell from Travel Adventure Nepal team in Kathmandu.
Important Information: Due to unpredictable weather in Lukla, some time the flight might not take off for the day so allow us 1 extra day in lukla. In those scenario we will return to Kathmandu in Day 15. Allow couple days extra for your return date to your home. You can always enjoy extra days in Kathmandu with day tours or short breaks package program.
Today our trip will end at 12 and need to check out the hotel. We will arrange luggage storage if you are departing later that day after 12 noon.
